Straight out of Sicily ☀️🌊 we have the Vicoletto Catarratto!!!
Despite being one of Italy’s most planted white grapes, Catarratto is rarely seen outside Sicily. Choosing it as your glass this month is like sipping a true hidden gem of the Mediterranean.
Vicoletto is made with a minimal-intervention approach: 90% of the juice is fermented clean, while 10% spends 12 days on skins before being blended back in. The result is unfiltered, unfined, and low sulphur. Its a natural wine with a little hazy charm. Think salty sea breeze in a glass.
On the nose, expect grapefruit, crisp apple, and wild herbs. On the palate, it’s all about zesty citrus, a touch of almond, and that salty Mediterranean snap that screams Sicily. There’s texture too! Thanks to that skin contact giving the wine more body than your everyday white.
And then something else VERY special is the Palm par L’escarelle. This delicious French rose is pale, delicate, and effortlessly chic. It comes from the sandy soils near Saint-Tropez and is made primarily from Grenache, Cinsault, and Carignan, the classic Provençal trio
Very pale, blush-pink, with Aromas of fresh red berries, pink grapefruit, a touch of citrus blossom. On the palate it isLight-bodied, crisp, with flavours of strawberry, raspberry, melon, and a clean mineral finish.
